We genuinely believe that we can help you and your business, but don’t just take our word for it.
Here are some case studies from our current roster of clients:
“Caban is a social enterprise based in the village of Brynrefail, near Llanberis. The origins of the organisation date back to the late 90s, but following a successful application for European funding in 2004 we took over the lease of the Old School building, which had been rebuilt as a business centre and cafe. The building is leased to us by Gwynedd Council, who also played an instrumental role in green flagging our funding applications.
The Caban building provides a base for a number of local businesses and much of our operation is focussed upon managing the needs of our tenants. Within the building we have a conference room facility which we regularly rent out.
Achieving a sustainable financial position has proved to be quite a challenge, but PORT have been extremely helpful.
In particular, we have worked closely with Ceris over recent years. He has guided us through a number of tricky periods and helped us to establish clear strategies and appropriate policies to ensure that our finances remain robust.
Ceris has provided us with a number of key insights that have enabled us to understand crucial elements of Caban’s finances. He is always available to answer any accounting or financial queries that crop up.
Our relationship with PORT is friendly, informal and relaxed, something which we feel facilitates transparent and constructive dialogue.
It’s important to trust your accountant and we certainly do with PORT.”

G & H Car & Commercial Ltd
“We started in business in July 2007 as a commercial vehicle testing and repair centre. We prepared our own payroll, VAT and wrote up all the records ourselves on a software program we had inherited from the previous owners. However, we soon realised that this was taking too much of our time and it affected our business.
We had appointed Ceris as our accountant and we asked him to take over the processing of the payroll. This saved us so much of our time we decided that we needed to look at other aspects of how we run our business.
We had a meeting with Ceris and we discussed what he could do for us. He identified areas where we could focus on our business rather than getting bogged-down in the paperwork. He provided us with a timetable and an approximate cost.
Over the next year or so, Ceris replaced our existing accounts software program with a more appropriate package and provided us with assistance which enables us to run our business effectively. During this time Ceris and his staff were always available to take phone calls to deal with queries we had with regard to the new software package.
His staff now calls into the office for one day a quarter and reconciles the bank account and finalises the VAT return.
In addition to this, Ceris calls into the centre to discuss the management accounts which are prepared on a quarterly basis. This enables us to focus on our business to make sure that we are running our business as effectively as possible.
The timetable was met and the costs were as predicted.
Our business has seen year on year growth in sales and profitability. We have recently purchased a new MOT station which will enable us to test cars as well as commercial vehicles and will add value to our business.”
